It’s May and time to get those bikes out of the garage to take advantage of the Levy Bypass and the Clarkston Green Belt. May is Bike Month and bike to work week is May 11 through 15th. But are you ready? Are your bikes?

Find out for free at Twin Rivers Cyclists’ first ever Family Fun Bike Festival and Poker Run Sunday, April 26th at Kiwanis Park in Lewiston. Representatives of Follets, Pedals ‘n Spokes, TNT Bikes, and Ride on Bikes will be available starting at 11:00 am to look over your bike to tell you what it needs. The shops will have new bikes on display too.

We’ll do a couple of miles on the dike bypass and return to Kiwanis Park for free hotdogs and prizes. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent. Helmets are required for all riders.

Outfitting your Bike for Commuting

A road bike is not necessarily your best bet for commuting. You don't need a $2,000 bike to get to work or to school. In fact a "beater" bike might be better.
