These rides involve
a great deal of climbing. They are best done in the cool of
the year and of the day. Dress in layers so you can adjust.

Start at the parking lot at the grocery
in Lapwai. Go north about 1 miles on 95 and take a right on Tom
Beall Road. Follow Tom Beall until the pavement runs out and
then continue on North Tom Beall Road. When you come out on top
after a long, gradual climb, you'll be on Meisner Road. Meisner
has several long rollers that are fun to ride. You have the option
of turning around and riding them back or of taking Garden Gulch
road back down to 95. You'll come out just a mile or so South
of Lapwai.

Starting at the Lapwai Grocery, turn
right on 95 and go about a mile to Garden Gulch road on your left.
Climb this until it turns right on Cottonwood Creek Road. Descend
into CuldeSac where you ride north on 95 until you reach Jacques
Spur. Nice little cafe here. After eating, cross 95 at Jacques
Spur and climb Lyle Gulch Road. It will drop down to Garden Gulch
and you finish back on 95 to the grocery. You could climb Lyle
Gulch off Garden Gulch first and then climb Cottonwood Creek grade
out of CuldeSac after lunch. Your choice.

We start this fat tire ride at the
Southway Boat launch. It means about 12 miles of pavement at both
ends of the ride. Eleanor's is a Tavern in UnionTown. We generally
take
the right turn at the Y on Steptoe Canyon, ride to Uniontown
for lunch at Eleanor's and then ride three more highway miles
to Colton where we take the Rimroad back to Steptoe Canyon.

A Southway Boat Launch start gives
you about 12 miles of highway miles on 12 to Spalding bridge.
We climb Coyote Grade and ride into Uniontown for something to
eat then retrace our steps back to Central Grade which brings
us out much closer to Lewiston.
